Costanza Rossi de S.
Architect, Artist, and Researcher
I was born in Santiago, Chile, in 1987. As an interdisciplinary architect, artist, and researcher, my practice explores the intersections of space, memory, and identity.
After graduating with a degree in Architecture from Universidad Diego Portales (Santiago, Chile) in 2012, I relocated to Berlin, where I honed my skills in exhibition design for museums and memorial spaces at the gewerkdesign office.
In 2020, I earned a Master’s in Art in Context from the Universität der Künste Berlin (UdK), focusing on artistic projects that delve into housing and gender studies. My work was further recognized in 2023 with the prestigious Visual Arts Research Fellowship from the Berlin Senate, supporting the development of my project “Inhabiting a Ruin.”
During my 2024 residency at the LandKunstLeben foundation in Buchholz, Germany, I developed new works that documented the communal experience of inhabiting a ruin.
Exhibitions and Screenings
My projects have been showcased in various venues, including:
How I Got Here — Short film premiere at KinoBerlino, Moviemento Cinema, Berlin (2024).
Re-habitar — Solo exhibition at Espacio La Cochera, Santiago, Chile (2023).
1x1: The International Archive of Women in Architecture — International Conference on Architecture and Gender, Valencia (2023).
Transtopia — Fifth edition of Chilean Conexión, Monopol, Berlin (2022).
Empty Plinths, Removed Monuments — OKK Gallery, Berlin (2018).
In collaboration with Florencia de Solminihac, I co-created “The Memory of the Tongue: Cooking Rituals Based on Remembrance” (2024), exploring sensory memory through communal cooking.
I currently live and work amidst the forested landscapes of Brandenburg, where I continue to develop projects that blend artistic inquiry with social research.
